New York

The Best of New York Travel Directory

Empire State BuildingThere's no place like New York, especially Manhattan. Known as the business capital of the world, New York is the playground for every mover and shaker known to mankind. From the financial district of Wall Street to the finest shopping on Madison; from TV moguls in Time Square to the theatre district on Broadway; from the eclectic collection of characters in Greenwich Village, to the street dancing of Harlem, there's not a thing missing for anyone with a sense of imagination, sense of adventure, or a sense of humor.

But, prepare well; there's nothing cheap about New York. Amazingly, nested in-between all the nooks and crannies are some of the finest, most reasonable hotels and bed & breakfasts you'll find, even in Manhattan. This is one state where mixing business and pleasure is a must.

Did You Know? The State Flower of New York is the Rose.

Historical Note: The first large electric display billboard in Times Square was the Wrigley's Chewing Gum advertisement that stood four stories tall and remained in the square for three years, from 1917 to 1920. The billboard war has continued today as they continue to get brighter, and bigger.
